VA Music Festival

St John Paul the Great Assembly will be serving hot dogs, brats, and pulled beef at the annual Veteran’s Music Festival at the VA Hospital on June 24, 2017.  We need some help with this project.

NEEDED: Need one pickup for picking up a grill to deliver to the VA Hospital and also returning it after 7 pm.   I will furnish the other pickup for picking up and delivering supplies.  

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED & SCHEDULE OF VOLUNTEERS:

8 AM – 10 AM:   4 volunteers to help pick up supplies on the day of the event.  Two pickups or vans?  Two volunteers per vehicle.

10 am – 11:30 am  Need 4 volunteers.   Booth must be set up before 10:30 am (Opening Ceremony).  Set up grills and booth.

11:30 am to 6 pm  4 – 6 volunteers:    Volunteers will be cooking brats and hot dogs, wrapping each and placing in coolers.  Will be replenishing supplies from the location where we will have them stored on the VA Grounds.  Will also help replenish supplies of water, chips, buns, etc while booth is open.

6 pm to 7 pm:   Tear Down  2 – 3 volunteers which may also include the earlier shift.  Reloading grill onto the pickup, packing up leftovers (if any), cleaning up, etc.

Please e-mail mgallardo2344@gmail.com indicating when you can help.  Parking will be available across 70th Street across from the VA Hospital and a shuttle will be operating transporting volunteers and visitors to and from.  Vehicles bringing in supplies can not be on the VA grounds between 10 am and 6 pm.  

I will keep all updated on the volunteers that respond.  If you have a 4th Degree shirt consider wearing it but keep in mind it may be hot and you will be grilling so dress appropriately.

Brother Knights we are asking anyone that may have pictures or videos of Knights in Action. Whether it’s a Cathedral Knights event or a parish event, anywhere Knights are gathered working, praying, playing or all of those. Most of us have a smartphone with a still & video camera, you don’t have to be an expert, just point and shoot.

Free Throw Contest

Thank you to everyone who came out to our annual free throw contest and congratulations to the winners, we’ll see you at Districts! Saturday, February 25th noon at the Cathedral school gym.

On Sunday (12/11) we welcomed 7 new brother Knights from 4 different councils (9563 (3), 8469 (2), 11001 (1), & 14548 (1) ).  Also we advanced 13 brother Knights to the 3rd degree.

Cathedral School Parent’s Night

Date: Thursday September 1, 2016
Just show up
Time: Meet at 4 pm in basement-kitchen Cathedral of Risen Christ

  • Arrive as soon as you can to help set up and pre cook hot dogs
  • Set Up: Setting up tables, condiments, drinks, cooking hot dogs,
  • Serving Time: 5:15 pm (after 5 pm Mass) until approximately 6:45 pm
  • Clean Up: App 7 pm take down tables, clean up.
